Marlowe had been intending on having a shower when he changed into a cat, and now things have changed.

He's in the bath. Thinking and soaking and oh, it feels good to be back.

Even if he will miss having two eyes.

Drying off hair...

"Cat? No, I didn't."

Darren drops to his knees, to look under the bed.

"I don't know where he is now."

Towel off body a bit more, pull on pants.

"Didn't know you were in the business of picking up cats."

"Oh, I'm not. It just snuck in here somehow."

He sounds faintly wistful.

"He was good company."

Pull on shirt, quick brush through hair, and where did he put his eyepatch...

"Give him a name?"

"Godot."

Part of him wants to say 'Hamlet.'

Marlowe pulls his eyepatch on, and appears in the bathroom doorway.

"Godot?"

"Did you ever read the Beckett play?"

Darren looks up.

"I always name pets after my favourite literary characters. All my goldfish were named after the Von Trapp children."

He points at the shelf. Bright blue and dog eared.

He nods, but walks over to the bed anyway. There is a dagger to be dropped on the bedside table, you see, and.

A Darren to be pulled over by his shirt and rather firmly kissed.

Darren panics and holds on and kisses like he's drowning.

Takes a moment to wonder if that expression makes any sense.

And then starts making 'wait, wait' noises because it's more complicated than that.

So Marlowe pulls back, and raises an eyebrow.

Darren, completely out of his depth right now, just stares at him.

"Sometimes, my dear Master Nichols? You really are an idiot."

Darren isn't sure what he'd be accepting here. He belatedly becomes aware that he has a hand tangled in Marlowe's hair. It drops to his lap.

"Of course, the answer was actually, do you want me to kiss you again, so..."

So he does so. Not as firm as before, more of a tease and a question.

Darren is mostly still, except at parts where he just can't help it, he just needs to run a hand up Marlowe's back. Just needs to tangle fingers in his hair again.

This is complicated and he can't remember why.

Marlowe doesn't think it's really complicated. Oh, no. Not at all. So he moves forward a bit and puts a knee on the bed for balance, and deepens the kiss for a moment. A pause for breath, and quick glance to see if Darren's mind has caught up yet.
